How can municipalities digitise quickly and effectively while maintaining a high level of cyber security? What challenges do municipalities need to protect themselves against when creating smart regions? And what can we learn from Israel here?

on December 2nd, 2021

The Hessian State Chancellery, Department of the Minister for Digital Strategy and Innovation, hosted the congress. The Hessian Ministry of the Interior and Sports participated in the event. Conference languages were German and English.

With our congress, we want to show and inspire how both work: smart regions or cities and high standards in cyber security, practice-oriented and with examples from Hesse as well as Israel."

How does cybersecurity succeed for smart regions? For this aim, the congress provided a diverse program:

Offers, challenges and solutions in exciting keynotes with experts from Israel and Hesse
The vision of secure smart regions in Hesse
Understanding of challenges, for instance regarding cybersecurity and privacy protection.
Amazing solutions, e.g., the deployment of volunteers in cases of major cyber damages or practical offers of security in smart regions!
Discussion on data platforms and digitization solutions, municipality governance and the establishment of volunteer networks with experts in interactive workshops.
Innovative solutions and impulses from Hessian and Israeli start-ups, accelerators, and municipalities – starting with data platforms to secure 5G solutions for traffic monitoring. Join us in exploring the question of how we together can contribute to creating secure smart regions.
Discussion with experts and practitioners at our concluding panel how the dilemma between high security standards and necessary digitization of municipalities can be overcome.
